Sammi Stuart enters her second season as Idaho State women's volleyball head coach. She was hired as the 10th head coach in ISU women’s volleyball history in May of 2019. She comes to Pocatello after spending four years as an assistant coach at Utah State.
As an assistant coach at Utah State, she served as the recruiting coordinator and oversaw the Aggie defense. She helped lead a team of Mountain West All-Stars to a second-place finish at the 2017 European Global Challenge which was the best result for the team in tournament history.
Prior to her career at Utah State, she was an assistant coach at Arizona State. Stuart was a member of the coaching staff that led the Sun Devils to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances from 2012-14.
Stuart was the Director of Volleyball Operations at Brigham Young University for the women’s team before her position at Arizona State where she oversaw the program’s video and statistical programs.
Stuart graduated from Utah State with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science in 2006 where she played on the women’s basketball team from 2003-05. Her mother, Cindy Stuart, was the head coach of the Utah State women’s basketball team from 1978-1982.
